Stand tall with a dumbbell in each hand, arms hanging long at your sides, elbows hugging your torso, and palms facing your thighs. You look like you're just standing there, minding your own business, but you're actually a ticking time bomb of bicep development. Here we go.
While keeping that upper arm absolutely still -- frozen in place like it's been encased in concrete -- you curl one weight upward while simultaneously rotating your palm until it faces the ceiling. Continue the contraction until that bicep is fully flexed and the dumbbell has reached shoulder level. Pause at the summit and squeeze like you're trying to turn coal into a diamond. Then, with agonizing slowness, you lower the weight back down, rotating your palm back to the starting thigh-facing orientation as you descend.
Then -- and this is the key -- you immediately repeat the same process with the other arm. Left, right, left, right, alternating like a pair of pistons in a well-oiled engine. The alternating pattern means each arm gets a micro-rest while the other works, which allows you to use slightly heavier weights than you could with simultaneous curls. Only the forearms should move during this exercise; if your upper arms are drifting forward or your shoulders are rolling, you're turning a precision movement into a chaotic mess. Keep it strict, keep it controlled, and watch those front arm muscles blossom like flowers in fast-forward.
