So you want shoulders that could double as architectural supports? Step right up. Grab a pair of dumbbells — nothing crazy, just enough to make you question your choices around rep eight — and stand tall with those bad boys resting against the front of your thighs, arms hanging long, palms facing inward toward your legs. You're basically a human coat rack right now, but trust me, that's about to change.
Without rocking your torso back and forth like you're at a concert — no cheating with momentum, people — you lift both dumbbells straight out in front of you. There's a whisper of a bend at the elbow, and your palms stay facing downward the entire ride. You keep going until your arms are just a smidge above parallel to the floor, exhaling like you're blowing out birthday candles. Hold that peak position for a beat and really feel those deltoids throwing a party.
Then, with all the patience of a saint waiting in line at the DMV, you lower those weights back down on the inhale. Slow and controlled, nothing herky-jerky. This isn't a race; it's a shoulder sculpture session. Repeat until your anterior deltoids have filed for union representation and your arms feel like they've been through a very educational washing machine cycle.
