The Double Sky Thrust for Cannonball Delts SCAN DEPTH: 100%

Mechanism · Protocol Notes

This is the granddaddy of shoulder-building moves, the one that'll have you reaching for the top shelf and then flexing once you get there. Sit on a bench with back support, a weight in each hand resting on your thighs like two loyal companions waiting for instructions. Kick them up to shoulder height one at a time, using your thighs to give them a boost — because there's no shame in getting a running start on heavy things.

Once both weights are perched at shoulder level with palms facing forward, you're at the launch pad. Take a breath, brace your core like someone's about to poke you in the stomach, and press both weights overhead simultaneously. Drive them up until they nearly touch at the apex, arms fully extended, like you're holding up the sky Atlas-style. Pause there at the peak for just a moment — not long enough to get comfortable, just long enough to let those deltoids understand the assignment.

Then lower the weights back to shoulder height with control. Not with gravity doing all the work — you resist the descent like you're negotiating with someone who keeps asking for more. That controlled return is where the deltoids actually grow, so treat it with respect.

Repeat for the prescribed count, and by the final rep your shoulders will feel like they've been through a serious negotiation and come out the other side significantly more impressive.
