Okay, so this one is for anyone who's ever sat cross-legged on the floor and thought, 'I wish this were somehow more of a workout.' You plop yourself down on the ground with your knees bent and the soles of your feet pressed together — yes, like a butterfly, embrace the imagery. Now lace your fingers behind your head like you're about to do the most relaxed sit-up of your entire life. This is your launch configuration.
From here, you fold forward, driving your elbows toward the inside of your thighs like you're trying to whisper a secret to your kneecaps. Your inner thighs and lower back are getting a stretch that can only be described as 'aggressively therapeutic.' Pause at the bottom for a beat and really let that sensation sink in — don't rush, the stretch isn't going anywhere, and frankly neither are you at this angle.
Then you rise back up to the starting position, head lifted, spine tall, feeling like a slightly more flexible version of the person you were thirty seconds ago. Do this for ten to twenty reps, and by the end, your adductors and spinal erectors will have formed a support group that meets on Tuesdays. It's simple, it's humbling, and it's the kind of stretch that reminds you your body has more nooks and crannies than an English muffin.
